We're so glad you’re here. A diagnosis of ovarian cancer, especially low- grade serous ovarian cancer, or LGSOC, can feel isolating and scary. STAAR is here to provide you with support as you navigate living with LGSOC.
Who Are We?
STAAR was founded in 2020 by three women with LGSOC to help fund research and spread awareness. This rare subtype of ovarian cancer is diagnosed at a much younger age than most ovarian cancers. It is not easily detected, and the treatments are under-researched. STAAR is here to help change that.
In addition to raising money to fund research, we’re also a community for those with an LGSOC diagnosis. Finding each other helps us cope with this disease and reminds us that we are not alone. |

Get Involved
Are you interested in raising awareness or fundraising for LGSOC research? Please join us! We meet virtually every month to talk about ways to get involved with communications, social media, community outreach, and fundraising.
Another great way to get involved is by hosting an event for our annual campaign , Step Up America for Ovarian Cancer during September for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Encourage your loved ones to participate as well.
