How to Create A Step Up America Fundraiser

Want to Start Your Own Fundraiser?

Create a Fundraiser Name or Team Name

First, decide on what kind of fundraiser you want to create:  an individual or a team

Individual Fundraiser
An individual fundraiser allows you to set a fundraising goal and ask you network of friends, family, co-workers, etc. to donate toward your goal.

Team Fundraiser
A team fundraiser allows you to gather your own team to help reach a fundraising goal.  You would ask your network of friends, family, co-workers, etc. again, but as a team, they would  help the team reach the overall team goal by asking their own network of family, friends, co-workers, etc.  A team gives a wider donation reach because people are helping you reach the goal by asking their own network of people.  ​

Set a Fundraising Goal

Whether you want to raise $200 or $20,000 individually or with a team, you'll share this information with your potential donors.

Team members will set individual goals to help the team reach the overall goal.  Each donation a team member acquires is added to the team goal.

Write a Short Message about Why You are Fundraising

You will put your message on your team page explaining to others about your motivation to fundraise.  Include information about STAAR Ovarian Cancer and past research donated or point friends to visit the pages of the STAAR website.

Create your Fundraising Webpage or Team Webpage

Now the fun begins! You will create your page using the link here and build your page.  You'll have an individual link to share with others.

Invite Donors + Team Members!

For fundraising teams:
  1. Fundraising team members register as part of your team and create an individual page that links to your page.  They will receive their own link to their page to share with their network of people.
  2. Each team member can set their own personal goal toward the team goal.
