Consider donating your time and talents by joining a committee. You decide on the time you can share, but all help is appreciated and welcome. Join one or more of our committees and get started this month! If you don’t have the time for committee work, consider volunteering by creating your own fundraiser. |

Join A Volunteer Committee
Our committee system is run by volunteers who are the heart of our organization. We have four committees: fundraising, financial, donor relations, and marketing and communications. The various committees work together to lead us to our mission.
Fundraising
STAAR’s fundraising committee sets the goals for all fundraisers, determines the need for supplies, prepares paperwork and marketing plans, keeps records of all donations, and seeks event sponsorships.
Financial
STAAR’s financial committee creates reports, analyzes income distribution, collects and pays reimbursement and expense forms, enters items into accounting software, sends receipts to donors, and helps with IRS reporting.
Donor Relations
STAAR’s donor relations committee writes thank-you notes to sponsors and donors and sends out newsletters about the results of fundraisers, research awards, and advancements in research.
Marketing + Communications
STAAR’s marketing & communications committee creates and schedules social media posts, as well as a branding kit, advertising, literature, and brochures, and responds to social media comments and direct messages.
