Our mission is to fill the gap in LGSOC research funding and drive advancements that will lead to better diagnostic tools, novel therapies, and ultimately, a cure for LGSOC.

STAAR Funded Research

Thanks to our donors, beginning in 2021 STAAR has been able to award multiple research grants to institutions working to improve outcomes for those with low-grade serous ovarian carcinoma.

From organizing the first-ever Externally Led Patient-Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD) meeting for LGSOC and hosting the first national LGSOC conference, to earning recognition and awards for innovative awareness campaign, STAAR continues to elevate patient voices and push for meaningful change in research, treatment, and awareness.

What we have funded

Because STAAR’s mission centers on accelerating life-saving research for low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC), we are proud to have raised and funded over $1 million in research support. These vital dollars have been directed to leading institutions across the country, advancing innovative studies, expanding clinical insights, and pushing the field closer to better treatments and improved outcomes for women facing this rare cancer.
