September 9th

What is Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (LGSOC) Awareness Day?

In 2024, STAAR established September 9 as LGSOC Awareness Day—one day during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to focus on low-grade serous ovarian cancer.

Many people living with LGSOC had never heard of the disease before they were diagnosed with it. STAAR connects newly diagnosed patients with the resources they need and is a community where no one has to feel alone in the fight.

LGSOC Awareness Day is the time to spread the word about the symptoms of low-grade serous ovarian cancer and the need for more research. Share the signs. Save a life.

How can you participate in LGSOC Awareness Day?

Share a social media post using the hashtag #LGSOCAwarenessDay, inviting others to learn more about LGSOC. Plan an event.  Agree to wear teal or pass out t-shirts.
